Today is the Winter Solstice — the darkest day of the year. What I like about the Winter Solstice is knowing that from now on each day will get a little lighter and lighter.
Let’s see what the Daily Bitch has to say on the darkest day of the year.

That’s dark enough for the darkest day of the year and here are my other images for the day.

On the darkest day of the year, I’m going back to see a doctor who I hope will enlighten me about the constant and annoying clicking I hear and feel whenever I speak or sing (which definitely darkens my mood).

Thanks to all who bring some light on the darkest day of the year, including YOU!

I love the wooden moose (with a stone swan behind it)! Now I’m off to do a crossword puzzle on this Crossword Puzzle Day.
I love your comments, Debbie.
If you check your almanacs the sun actually rises later for a few days – the change comes when sunset is later. For instance, today goes from 7:25-4:25 but the 31st is from 7:28-4:32. As I recall, you really begin to notice it by mid-January, and by February you’re in a whole different world.
Thanks for the info.
bring back the light!
You always bring the light, beth!
I hope that you can get some help with your clicking jaw.
You had some very interesting (and quite fowl) visitors to your neighborhood recently.
Thanks, Maureen, and you’re a wonderful visitor.
A little over a week ago the Geminid meteor shower lit up the night sky. We were lucky it was clear and there was no moon. Sometimes the darkness can allow less seen lights to shine.
Thanks for shining your light here, Chris.
Very soon come the lighter days, Ann.
Thanks for the light you bring, Mark.
