Day 3937: Screaming

Yesterday, in my online Coping and Healing groups, I invited people to observe International Moment of Frustration Scream Day by muting themselves and screaming for some moments. During that exercise, I did some silent screaming because I thought actual screaming might damage my voice. Several people reported that giving themselves permission to be screaming — especially with the screaming news headlines this week — was cathartic and helpful.

Is there screaming in my images for today?

.

I assume there won’t be any screaming when I go to my first chiropractor appointment ever on Friday the 13th.

Speaking of screaming, sometimes I say to my husband Michael, “It’s all over but the screaming” — a misquote of “It’s all over but the crying.”

Let’s see what I find on YouTube when I search for “screaming.”

This weekend I’ll be thinking about that “screaming in the mic” short as I try to figure out how to be better at screaming into the void on Tik Tok. Here’s another “screaming” video on YouTube:

Screaming THANKS to all who help me do daily blogging instead of daily SCREAMING, including YOU!

  1. when frustrated, I mutter to myself and luckily I get to scream at recess with my kinder, we all scream with glee

  2. A good scream every so often is always helpful! Good luck at your appointment today!

  3. I off-the-top-of-my-head unleash utterances that in turn frustrate my dear wife Karen, I’m sorry to say, Ann, because I’m of course sorry for that immediately.

  4. I find it interesting gulls, who are famous for their screaming, are represented here by one placid gull. I wonder if it is screaming inside? Or if it is just enjoying the view.

  5. I’ve noticed that sometimes when people share something they find really funny they say “I am screaming” or “This made me scream!” It’s a fun reminder that joy can be just as intense as frustration or anger, and releasing it can be cathartic too.
