Day 3777: Who do you believe in?

Last night, I asked this question on Twitter:

That question was inspired, I believe, by my meeting Carmen (who believe it or not, shares the birthday of Groundhog Day with me!) and her husband Manny yesterday on the Viking River Tour.

Manny and I discovered that we both loved the song “I Believe in You” from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and we both believed in our ability to sing it together at the dinner table.

I believe in people’s ability to connect, learn, and grow despite suspicions and fear about difference, and I saw that in a “stumble stone” on a street in the German city of Koblenz.

I believe in The Guardian’s ability to describe stumble stones.

I believe in my ability to put together all the images I collected yesterday to create my 3777th consecutive daily blog.

I believe in the Daily Bitch’s ability to believe in herself.

Who do you believe in? I believe in YOU.

  1. I believe in people who do their best to live a kind and compassionate life in the world

  2. I believe that I most likely would never know the significance of the important stumble stone without your marvelous blog from this Viking River cruise, Ann.

  3. Tulips! Also, I love to see that you share my love for old European cathedrals, their many fascinating details added over the centuries, and their beautiful ceilings. I was in danger of leaving Italy with a permanently crooked neck. And, of course, the Germans as well as the Italians tended to crown their hilltops with castles, always with an eye out for the defensible position. I know that wasn’t the question, but I answered that one last night. Love your lovely tour. And thanks for the reminder about the stumble stones.

  4. I believe stumble stones are a wonderful way to memorialize people who might otherwise be forgotten. Everyone’s placed a stone toward getting us to where we are on this road we’re on and everyone deserves to be remembered.

  5. I believe these are great images of the St Castor Cathedral, the spitting boy of Koblenz, and other scenery.
