Day 4492: Priorities

Yesterday, my priorities included spending time with those I love, attending a local protest, and enjoying great food at my favorite restaurant.

It’s wonderful when others share and validate your priorities.

Today, the Boston Globe’s priorities included publishing these photos.

My priorities today include finishing my protest song “You Don’t Scare Me.”

Day 4491: Disappointing people

There are way too many disappointing people in the news these days. I’m thinking about all those disappointing people in positions of power committing cruel and illegal acts and all those disappointing people letting them get away with it.

At the same time, I work with wonderful people who are worried about disappointing people. Many of them had disappointing people as parents who undermined their self esteem. Most of them are triggered by the disappointing people in the news because they remind them of abusers in their lives — disappointing people who committed awful acts and disappointing people who let them get away with it.

I hope today’s USA protests against disappointing people in power are very well attended. Here’s my sign about some very disappointing people:

.

Let’s see if there are disappointing people in my other images for today.

On National Hanging Out Day, I look forward to hanging out with like-minded people in my nation who are protesting those horribly disappointing people in power.

Day 4487: Favorite words

Some of my favorite words are “integrity,” “hope,” “”courage,” and “love.” I love that Harvard is demonstrating integrity and courage …

… and I hope that others do the same.

I’m going to another protest this Saturday and have to come up with some favorite words to put on a sign. I’ve got the materials …

… now I just need the words.

Some of my favorite words are “macaroni and cheese” and thoughtful people unexpectedly provided macaroni and cheese for me at work yesterday.

Do you see any favorite words in my images for today?

One of my favorite words is “thanks” and thanks to all who helped me create this “favorite words” post, including YOU!!

Day 4485: Other people’s anger

I’ve spent too much of my life worrying about other people’s anger.

When I was a child and in the hospital dealing with heart problems, other people’s anger seemed very dangerous, so I practiced being a perfect and lovable patient.

Old habits die hard, but at this point in my life I know I can survive other people’s anger and that I can’t please everybody.

I even wrote a song called “Other People’s Anger.”

.

I don’t know whether “Other People’s Anger” or my other original songs are good enough to share on Spotify yet. I’ll be talking to my show biz coach, Jeff Leisawitz — who helped me overcome writer’s block and write songs including “Other People’s Anger” — this week about that.

Yesterday I met my beloved ex-sister-in-law Deborah at the fabulous Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown, and we discussed our own anger about how narcissistic leaders’ anger and greed are wreaking destruction world wide. I told her that I’m working on a sign which I’ll bring to join in with other people’s anger at protests next Saturday.

Do you see other people’s anger in my other images for today? If you do, do you care? I don’t!

.
