Day 4897: You’ll Be Missed

“You’ll be missed,” is something my husband Michael says ironically when I’m thinking of terminating the services of a supplier.

Me: I’m going to tell them that if they don’t fix this, I’m going to take my business elsewhere!

Michael (pretending to be them): You’ll be missed.

“You’ll be missed” is funny in that context, but I actually hope that I will be missed, even by a corporation.

“You’ll be missed” implies that we don’t matter. We do matter, even if others don’t seem to value us.

I hope you know that if you leave, you’ll be missed.

Do you see any evidence that you’ll be missed in my images for today?

.

I wrote the song “Don’t Kill Yourself” because you’ll be missed.

.

If you don’t leave a comment, you’ll be missed, but I’ll live. (“You’ll live” is something else Michael says.)

Thanks to all who didn’t miss this you’ll-be-missed post, including YOU!

I don’t really believe in good people and bad people. Although I have been heard to say, “She’s good people,” or words to that effect. I was thinking the other night about all the people I have known (cue Willie Nelson song) and in a way I miss them all. They all gave me something: an experience, a night to remember (yes, he did, and it didn’t involve sex), I wish I could thank them all for passing through my life and leaving their mark. Even if it was an unpleasant one. How could I understand someone else’s pain without having pain of my own? And such a variety of stories. From such a variety of people. Thank you.

  3. I think that “Don’t Kill Yourself” is a powerful song.

I am not leaving this blog (Even if sometimes I have to catch up a few days together because of all is going on, especially traveling to grandkids)

  4. I say you’ll live a lot too! I am glad to be able to leave a comment on this post!
