Day 4785: A Little Life

On the recommendation of a social work intern who is co-facilitating a Coping and Healing group with me, I’m listening to the audiobook of A Little Life.

.

A Little Life is not a little book, and it tackles big themes including trauma, child abuse, love, friendship, and art.

At the same time that I’m listening to many harrowing descriptions in A Little Life, I am living my own little life to the best of my ability.

.

.

When I attended another Open Mic in my little life last night, I performed this original song:

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “a little life” on YouTube.

I wonder if I’ll get to see that in my little life?

Thanks to all who share a little life with me here, including YOU!

Here’s to all of us with little lives. We make up the bulk of humanity. Even those with “big” lives have little lives lived within the big life. Most of us brush our teeth. Sometimes we have lunch. We’ve all been duly trained to look both ways when we cross the street. We all do those little things that make up life as it goes along. I will not make a decision that affects national policy – but I am going out tomorrow to stand on a street corner demanding that changes be made. It’s a little action shoehorned into a little life, but I have hope to be a drop in the big blue ocean that will, eventually, have national consequences. Not so little after all.

  3. I’ve read that book and I loved it! It is well worth the read!

  4. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Ann ~ and hope you get a little Seattle sunshine on Sunday to brighten the day (well, at least for me). 😊. Take care 🙏🏻
