I’m sleepless in the USA, so I’ve started writing a song about that.

.
I’m sleepless because of the awful things going on the USA for the past two months and because I’m leaving for Italy tomorrow on a 10-day break from the USA.
While I’m sleepless in the USA I’m also working on a melody for my protest song “You Don’t Scare Me,” which I want to finish before the April 5 USA marches.
I’m sleepless but happy to share these other images with you.

.
I’m sleepless in the USA because somebody named Donald is President on National Donald Day.
.
Here’s what I find when I search for “sleepless in the USA.”
.
When I worry about possible consequences of being sleepless in the USA, I can lose sleep over that.
If I’m sleepless in the USA again tonight, I’ll sleep on the plane on the way to Italy tomorrow.
Thanks to all who help me when I’m sleepless in the USA, including YOU.

Toss and turn are both in my vocabulary these days, Ann.
We are not alone, Mark.
I’ve been an insomniac before – not anymore, for some reason. I sleep well these days – the last few years actually – but I hated it, not only because I couldn’t sleep but because I couldn’t do anything else, either. I was still tired, and I couldn’t concentrate on a book or TV and hadn’t any energy for anything useful: only hours of useless tossing and turning. FWIW, I don’t remember being sleepless in Europe. 🙂
I was sleepless for one night in Europe but it was because I was waiting for the election results from the USA this past Tuesday!
Insomnia can be a terrible thing but metaphorically I feel like a lot of people are waking up, which is why we’re having mass demonstrations. Still in honor of Daffodil Day I’ve taken a little time to read some Wordsworth.
That’s a very hopeful observation, Christopher. Thank you
Your words always wake me up, Chris.
