What’s the best thing you can say when you’re on vacation and have tickets for great shows and plans to spend time with your only son and you’re sick with a fever and what feels like bronchitis?

.
What’s the best thing you can say about 2024?

.
Here’s what I find when I search for “what’s the best thing to say?”
.
That reminds me of Alex Edelman, who says that the best thing you can say in response to anything when you have nothing else to say is “Can you believe it?”
What’s the best thing you can say about this blog post?
Thanks to all who help me find the best things to say every day, including YOU!

so sorry, hope you are feeling better soon. illness never takes a holiday, it seems. best thing about the year is that we made it through., and are still here
So glad we’re both here, beth!
I’m wishing you a quick recovery, Ann. My dear wife Karen just went through a few days of feeling poorly but now she’s on the mend!
This has been a long slog, Mark, but I hope to be feeling my best soon.
I usually say something like, “That’s interesting,” even though it invites long minutes of someone reiterating how interesting it actually is. I think “Can you believe it” would bring a similar response. Maybe a better response would be one I heard David Letterman use once. “That’s sorta interesting.” As if it wasn’t interesting at all. Mean of Dave, but given the subject (I forget) I remember I laughed.
And given that we seem to have made it this far, I say Happy New Year to everyone. It’s gonna be sorta interesting.
You’re always interesting, Barbara.
I hope you feel better is, I think, the best thing I can say right now but I also like to say “Tell me more.” Everybody has a story and I like it when people share theirs.
You always say the best things, Chris.
I hope you are on the mend, Ann
I’m getting there, Maureen.
