I can’t escape the feeling that I’ve written about escapes here before, because they are so important for mental health. We all need escapes; otherwise, we can feel stuck, powerless, discouraged.
Personally, I find no escapes, here and now, from
- the cold and the dark,
- my chronic health conditions,
- the news,
- nervousness about my upcoming concert,
- aging (especially because I’m turning 71 on Friday),
- and that nagging feeling that I’m forgetting something important.
Do you see escapes in my images for today?

Thanks to all who help me plan my escapes, including YOU!

Happy almost-birthday, Ann. Are you planning a birthday escape?
You mentioned worrying about forgetting something important. But I think you never forget anything truly important, Ann. And you are very good at reminding us about what’s important, too.
Your comments help me escape my worries, my good friend.
My first thought was the back door. My second thought this morning is, but where do I go from there? My third thought is, plan ahead.
Great thoughts, Barbara.
I’m certain I once heard a country song in which a man says he and his girlfriend pledged to love each other ‘til Hell froze over, then he cries, “I just saw the Devil and he was covered in ice from head to toe!” And yet I can’t find any such song, but trying to find it has been a pleasant escape.
That song made me laugh, Christopher. Please let me know if you find it! And if not, maybe you need to write it. Sometimes it does feel like….
Thanks for more pleasant escapes!
I hope it makes you feel better that I feel the time spent with your blog is a wonderful escape to constructive thinking, Ann.
It makes me feel better, Mark. Thank you!
I need an escape from my mind right now, so I think I’ll go read a book and escape into another world!
Sounds good, Carol anne!
