Day 3839: You have all the time you need

Yesterday, in a Coping and Healing group, I shared the helpful (and sometimes controversial) phrase “You have all the time you need.”

You have all the time you need to (1) consider what you think of that phrase and (2) look at my images for today.

You have all the time you need to tell the truth in the comments section, below, and I have all the time I need for chocolate, macaroni, and forgiveness today. I can’t take a walk with my late father on Father-Daughter Take a Walk Together Day, but it’s comforting to think I had all the time I needed with him when he was alive.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “you have all the time you need.”

    .

I have all the time I need to express gratitude to all who are sharing their time with me, here and now, including YOU!

    1. we do find time for what we really want and need, no matter what we say to the contrary. it always finds a way. when something feels overwhelming to me, I walk away from it for a bit, and return to it later, either physically or metaphorically.

      • Are you moving to Threads, Ann? I’m not sure I’ll try that out because I have an Instagram account and I already can’t figure out how to use that. I almost never post photos — I’m more interested in words, I can’t figure out who I’m following there, and I usually feel totally disoriented. I hardly ever go there! Does Threads offer a better experience?

Well… I should add that if you move to threads I will try it out of course!

        • I’m trying out Threads, Maureen, as a possible alternative to Twitter. It’s new and seems to be the closest experience to Twitter. I don’t use Instagram much either.

        • Same, Maureen

      • I love spending time with you!

      • I don’t use Instagram much but it was very easy to sign up for Threads and it does seem similar to Twitter.

    3. A. I can’t move to Threads yet because they don’t yet have a PC app. I don’t use my phone for Twitter. Few people call me (I moved away from all my friends 7 years ago), and the interface is too small. I don’t even have email on my phone.
      B. I do keep getting an anxious feeling that I don’t have enough time to do all that I’m supposed to be doing, so I try to stop and remember that there isn’t anything I’m supposed to be doing unless I have decided to do it. (Benefits of being 80?) But then I also remember that I’ll probably be dead soon, so I’d better hurry up with whatever project I have put myself to finish before that time. Aaargh!

    4. It’s funny that you found a Ze Frank video. Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed it helps to stop and watch one of his “True Facts” animal videos.

    5. I did move onto Threads as well, Ann, since I months ago stopped putting any effort into Twitter. But I’ve yet to put any effort into Threads yet, either.

    6. I moved onto Threads, as well. I just followed you. I likely won’t interact much, as I also don’t on Twitter, but I do enjoy lurking around a bit. LOL! I apparently have more than enough time on my hands…all that I need to get lost on a new media platform! 🤷‍♀️

      • I followed you back, Debra, and interacting with you is always time well spent!

        • I haven’t even created a profile yet, and the photo imported from Instagram is really old. Those “little girls” with me are 16 and 14 now. I do need to create a profile and update everything, but I’m enjoying reading what others are posting. I loved your photos of Joan as you garnered followers. You are so clever!

    7. Oh,a conundrum!

    8. I appreciate this post and the reminder to take all the time we need. This phrase is powerful and something I’ll definitely keep in mind. I’m grateful for the courage to be honest with ourselves and others. Thank you for writing this, it was thoughtful and meaningful.
