Yesterday, in Lugano, Switzerland, I had the good fortune to witness one of the best teachers and performers of opera, Thomas Hampson, give Master Classes to aspiring stars.
Here are some of the notes I jotted down while listening to one of the best teachers.

.
I met Mo and Frank from Germany at the afternoon Master Class with Thomas Hampson …

.
… and the three of us decided to come back for the evening Master Class, too.
I took a lot of video of the best teacher teaching, including this,

… this,

… this,
… and this.

As the best teacher Thomas Hampson says there, you have to be prepared for anything. Are you prepared for these responses I got on Twitter last night when I asked a question about best teachers?

.
Experience is one of the best teachers and here are more of my experiences from yesterday.

On Wonderful Weirdoes Day, I’m remembering the birthday of my late father, who was a great teacher and a wonderful weirdo like me.

Thanks to all who are here for this best teachers post, including YOU!

Some time ago I watched several of Joyce DeDonato’s master classes that were (and I think still are) streamed. I’m wary of sharing URL’s on here, so you will have to Google her/MasterClass if you want to check the out. And I’ve heard Thomas Hampson on “Live From the Met in HD” in, I think, Don Giovanni? It’s been some time. Anyway, it was a delight to discover after Jerry Garcia died that opera could provide a similar joy to that I felt at Grateful Dead shows (which also taught me and @sugaree a lot).
Thanks for sharing the best, Barbara.
I was lucky to have several great teachers who encouraged me to use my imagination, but I also really like Thomas Hampson’s advice “Don’t be distracted by ignorance.” That made me think that the second best teacher is the experiences life offers, as long as we’re open to them.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, Chris. I am lucky to know you.
