Day 4974: The News

People in my Coping and Healing groups used to talk about the news.

These days, they barely mention the news. Maybe that’s because the news is hazardous to their mental health.

Last night, I asked a question about the news on Twitter.

.

Here’s the news I hope you can use.

.

On National Relaxation Day, I’m wondering if it makes sense to search for “the news” on YouTube.

.

I really appreciate Tobias Wahlqvist’s TED talk about the news.

Thanks to all who are dealing with the news, including YOU!

The environs of Boston seem to be a Thanksgiving of turkeys. Also, when the news tells you this: “After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated, pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States,” Trump said in an Aug. 14 speech in Garden City, New York.” what’s even the point?

  2. Lately I’ve been thinking of those lines by William Carlos Williams:

    It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
    for lack
    of what is found there.
    Hear me out
    for I too am concerned
    and every man
who wants to die at peace in his bed
    besides.

Cutting through all the spin and misinformation isn’t easy but I think poetry as a way of understanding language and communication can help.

  3. that Ted talk was good Anne! I am not a new fan lately! Too depressing!
