I have wonderful memories of sharing holiday traditions with my late mother and father.
With them gone, I try to recreate those warm, safe, and loving feelings with new holiday traditions.
This year, I’ve been posting short excerpts of holiday songs on TikTok. Here’s the latest one:

How many repetitions create a tradition?

My friend and hairstylist Mia told me about a holiday tradition she loves — Solstice at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

.
Tonight I might be starting a new holiday tradition for us when I attend the Mt. Auburn Cemetery Solstice with my son.
I have a tradition of anxiety dreams, and last night I dreamt that I never got into that solstice event because (1) my phone with the tickets was dying, (2) I couldn’t find the ticket takers, (3) somebody gave me a complicated charging cable that didn’t work, and (4) the allotted time for our entry into the event ran out.
I wish I had a tradition of dreaming pleasant dreams.
I’m also working on new holiday tradition with my latest song.

Do you see holiday traditions in my other images for today?

Thanks to all who are here for these holiday traditions, including YOU!

Favorite Holiday Tradition: Growing up we had a traditional Wigilia. Those days, and the people, are long gone, but my wife and I built on the tradition. Christmas Eve dinner now has shrimp cocktail as well as pierogi, kapusta, borscht, cod, and several dessert items. The gathering is smaller than it once was but quaint nonetheless. Finish the evening with a nice cognac and a Christmas movie (Usually Christmas Vacation).
Thanks for sharing that beautiful tradition, Stan.
We take a photo of our daughters standing next to the lit Hanukkah candles on the 8th night. This started when our first daughter was less than 2 weeks old. During COVID, when they were living in 2 different households, we photoshopped 2 separate photos together. We’ll be doing it again this Sunday. 🙂
I love that tradition! Thanks for sharing, Debbie.
wonderful !

For several years the university where I work would give out dreidels at the annual holiday party. I looked forward to getting a new one. I’m sorry they stopped. But I have other traditions to make up for it, like always reading Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory” and Dylan Thomas’s “A Child’s Christmas In Wales”.
It also looks like Joan is worried Jack Frost nipping her nose might become a tradition.
Wonderful traditions, Chris, and Joan is good with it all.
I don’t know where to find Til Tok videos (in general) but I loved the ones that you posted. Happy Christmas!!
The cat dreidel comic was delightful
I love your comments year round, Maureen.
Christmas wishes to you anne, your singing cheered me up tonight!
And this comment cheered me up, Carol Anne!
