During times like these, I really need good-conquers-evil stories like Charles Dickens novels and the Star Wars movies.
I continue to hope that good conquers evil in the future.
Let’s see if good conquers evil in my images for today.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “good conquers evil.”

Thanks to all who help me believe that good conquers evil, including YOU!

Calendar DB- My father would say something similar but I am sure if he wanted to he could quote it. Come to think of it, I never heard my father use Fv(k. And, while when he said it seemed to be just another saying, I have learned that he actually lived it. I mean according to my aunt, he never said anything bad or derogatory about my mother (neither before nor after the divorce) or at least not to her. I am still working on it. I slip sometimes. I couple ‘if you cannot say something nice don’t say anything’ with ‘better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt’ and keep my mouth closed. It works for me…
Good triumphs over Evil… I tend to gravitate towards the humanity of a character. The character who is flawed but shows a human side. Nicholas Cage’s Joe Ransom in the movie Joe. Boo Malone in ‘The Hard Bounce’. DeadPool. Seriously flawed but with a human side and glimmers of goodness within. So just about any story of good over evil with severely flawed characters on the side of the good, I will probably enjoy.
On the flipside, I see many refer to the Dickensian good over evil. To me, the antagonists only became less evil due to threats of what could happen after death. That is not winning the battle good over evil. That is fear.
Thanks for another great comment, Stan.
Alan and I enjoyed Die Hard last night for the umpteenth time, and enjoyed it as usual. Good conquers rotten & cracks a few jokes along the way.
In terms of a real world approach that recognizes the complexities of the “bad guys” as well as the “good guys” and allows compassion to bloom in the viewers, I enjoyed the recent mini series Task, with Mark Ruffalo.
I will look into “Task,” my good friend.
This was a recent FB post: My housemate used to be afraid of bad people. They were everywhere, she used to say. No, they aren’t, I used to tell her. Most people are good and mean well. Hardly anyone breaks the law or hurts people on purpose. I thought and still think that is true. There are people who do those things, but you are not apt to run into them often. The fact that occasionally we do, makes them only occasional. They do not dominate. For the most part most of us go about our daily lives unmolested. That’s because most people are good and mean well. Keep that in mind when you step out your front door.
Thanks for this very good comment, Barbara!
In honor of one of the events on the calendar today the 504 Sit-in of 1977 is one of my favorite stories of good over evil. Or maybe it’s good over apathy—which is a pervasive form of evil. People with disabilities sometimes need to make themselves seen to get the rights and access people like me often take for granted.
Thanks for this comment, my good friend.
