I love the first sip of hot tea with honey and lemon in the morning. I love seeing the birds and chipmunks and squirrels come to my feeders. I love the huge maple tree that shelters them all and the gray stick tree outside my office window. I love New York Times crossword puzzles and 1500 piece jigsaw puzzles. Over and above it all, I love my children, in whom I, god, and everyone should be well-pleased. And we are!

I love the thought that maybe someday we won’t have an International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, And Biphobia because those prejudices will be gone. In the meantime there are people close to me who are gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual and I love them and will stand up to those who oppose their rights.
