Happy National Be Late for Something Day, everybody!

.
It’s interesting that National Be Late for Something Day is occurring, this year, on the day after Labor Day and the day I return to work after a two-week vacation. During my vacation, I really appreciated the freedom to be late, with far fewer scheduled events and obligations.
One of my scheduled events during my vacation was a dentist’s appointment and when I was on my way there, I started writing a song about being late.

.
That seems like a good song for National Be Late for Something Day. Here’s a quote from the late (in more ways than one) Les Waas about the day he created:

.
Besides this being National Be Late for Something Day, it’s also National Shrink Day.

.
I am a shrink and I can NOT be late for any of my patients’ appointments, even on Be Late for Something Day. I’ll try to figure out something I can be late for today; in the meantime, here are my images for National Be Late for Something Day.

On Telephone Tuesday, I’m also celebrating my son finally having a working telephone in Halifax after his U.S. carrier was several days late sending an unlock code so he could start using it there. They were, apparently, celebrating National Be Late for Something Day a week early.
Here’s what I find when I search for “National Be Late for Something Day” on YouTube.

Mrs. E wasn’t late getting that video up on YouTube for National Be Late for Somethimg Day.
Many thanks to YOU for showing up here, now.

@macrovist, you got the picture I couldn’t get – my excuse, it was dark and we only caught him in the headlights high in the mountains of Montana. As for being late, I think I’ve been late most of my life from always thinking I could squeeze one more thing to do in before I leave and always being wrong. Luckily I never had patients waiting on me, but I did have a lot of patient people. 🙂
You are worth waiting for, Barbara.
I didn’t know about shrink day. I hope you feel celebrated.
Those noodles look sooooo good!
I always feel celebrated by you, my friend.
I plan to celebrate this late
Good call, beth.
One experience wasn’t too pleasant. One summer night I slept with the window open. And was awakened by not by the fragrant smell of clear night air but that of the foul odor of a skunk.

Yikes!
I’m glad I wasn’t late getting here. While swimming in the ocean I’ve had some face-to-face meetings with stingrays. They’re remarkable and under appreciated creatures.
Good to know, my remarkable and appreciated friend.
Ironically (or perhaps coincidentally) I’m a day late telling you how I spent my entire journalism career making sure I never, ever showed up for or completed a task late, Ann.
I am not surprised, my friend.
For once, my coming to say hello “the day after” kind of fits your theme. I do think it would be just fine with me to have a mandated procrastination/be late for something day. Wouldn’t it be nice to think we could participate with no negative effect. 🙂
No negative effects with you, my supportive friend.
I’m never late for anything! I hate being late!
You’re not alone, Carol Anne!
