Day 3888: In order to be remembered

When I was recently discussing my goals and wishes with my “show biz” coach Jeff, we wondered whether I create songs and shows in order to be remembered.

I have no control over how I will be remembered and I choose to focus more on the the healing of the creative process — the here and now rather than the future.

Here are some images, in order, to be remembered.

In order to be remembered, the Daily Bitch often says what many people are thinking.

Here’s what I find when I search for “in order to be remembered” on YouTube:

.

And here’s an in-order-to-be-remembered song I heard last night from Cardiacs.

.

I think more about what I could do in order to be remembered before I’m about to fly, and today my son Aaron, my ex-sister-in law Deborah, and I are flying to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hopefully, I’ll be sharing memorable images in order from there until I return home on September 2.

Thanks to all who helped me create this in-order-to-be-remembered post, including YOU!

  1. I think we all have the hope to be remembered, it’s a very human need. my legacy will be my children and grandchildren. and I hope to be remembered for my kindness.

  2. Even if you don’t think you know how you will be remembered, I think I do, Ann. You will be remembered with love and appreciation for your creative, loving and compassionate spirit, and possibly for a smidgeon of adorable and enriching anxiety.

I will also remember you for sharing Aaron’s creative pieces from childhood, particularly misheard lyrics.

I am on my way in to an appointment at the hospital now, nothing worrying but time consuming, and smiling because I remember his videos.

  3. Best remembered, by different groups, for books and pies, but I fear many people will remember that, at a keyboard, I can never get my fingers to just shut up. Like the word salad I posted last night about strange music. Realized later that all I had to say was: Grateful Dead/Opera. Covered it.

  4. I like the Cardiacs’ song!

  5. One day as I was walking home my neighbor drove up beside me and asked what I was listening to. I told him “Urban Spaceman” by The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. He told me that was a fun but strange choice. Even stranger is that he knew the song. I’ll never forget that and your songs are just as memorable. One of these days I’m going to play “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole” for him.

  6. Immediately, the great song ‘Strange Days’ by the Doors popped into my head, Ann, and it won’t leave.
