People who want to sell us something spend a lot of time and money trying to figure out what captures our attention.
Based on the latest news story that captured our attention (the missing submersible Titan), what captures our attention includes:
- danger,
- hope,
- novelty,
- money,
- adventure,
- mystery,
- controversy,
- hubris,
- mistakes,
- strong emotion, and
- lack of closure.
Now that the story has ended, tragically, I assume that something else will capture our attention.

The plane in the sky and the bird in the tree branch captures my attention, Ann.
That captured my attention too, Mark.
I am always drawn to the peace and comfort images
Peace and comfort deserve more attention, beth.
“People who want to sell us something spend a lot of time and money trying to figure out what captures our attention.” True and it works, but not always the way they intend. There is a commercial out there featuring a comfortable couple in bed with their tablets talking about something, I have no idea what, that I’m supposed to want, I guess, but what captures my attention is their pajamas. I really, really like their pajamas. Don’t think they are selling pajamas.
This comment really captured my attention!
The way Michael prepared that salmon has my attention.
Me,too!
Me three!
My attention goes to all your landscapes and a golden ratio applied!
Thanks for your kind attention, Maria.
I think I was most captured by that appealing dinner plate! Of course, I’m hungry right now. In other moments it would be that lovely skyline photo. Very tranquil.
Thanks for your attention, Debra!
