In 2013, my first year of blogging and the year of the Boston Marathon bombing, I wrote a blog post titled “Signs.” Because I often notice signs of healing and other important experiences, I’ve written several blog posts since then about signs (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here).
What signs do you see in today’s blog post?

Does anyone see signs of badass becoming dumbass in Dominion settling with Fox?
Because of signs that Joan’s eyes are not healing (and perhaps becoming worse), we stopped applying the ointment and are taking her back to the vet today (along with Harley, who is due for his yearly appointment). We’re hoping that the notoriously shy and fretful Harley does not pick up any signs from us about his upcoming stressful experience.
Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “signs”:
Thanks to all who read signs with me, including YOU!

I’m hoping for a healing solution for Joan’s eye infection, Ann. And may Harley not stress too badly for his trip for inspection!
The vet visits went great, Mark. Joan was having a reaction to the eye ointment and the healing solution is to let her heal on her own. 🎉
That’s not a great thing that the first prescribed solution was making Joan’s woes worse, Ann, but I guess sometimes it’s definitely trial and error in the healing process. Here’s to her speedy recovery now!
My favorite sign from (I think it was the women’s march on Jan. 21, 2017?) read, “Shut the f*ck up, Donnie!” and the guy who had the sign was accompanied by Steve Buscemi, the original “Donnie.”
Thanks for sharing that sign!
Yikes! Joan’s eyes look very uncomfortable for her. I hope that has a new approach that is more successful. And that Harley is not too overwhelmed by the visit. Good luck!
It all went well, Maureen. We saw the senior vet (who we really like) and he discontinued the eye treatment which was causing a rare adverse reaction. He says Joan’s eyes can heal on their own. Everyone is happy to be home, especially Harley!
Joan’s eye is causing me stress, as I’m sure it is for her, but I also feel comforted by the woman holding up the “You’re perfect” sign at the Boston Marathon. She may have meant it only for one person but I think it reached many who needed it.
Thanks for a perfect comment, Chris. Our practically perfect vet said today that Joan’s eyes will clear up perfectly on their own now that we’ve stopped the antibiotic. No stress!
Poor Joan! I hurt just to look at her, poor baby! And as for Fox/Dominion? I’m so disappointed/angry that there isn’t a demand that Fox make an on-air admission that they lied. The settlement is chump change to Fox. I don’t need any more signs that money is more valued than justice. Ouch!
Ouch is right, Debra. No ouches for Joan, though — no more ointment and the vet predicts a complete recovery of her eyes without further treatment. 😻
Signs of spring Ann, great images!
Thank you, Maria!
glad that Joan is on the mend, sometimes we just need some time to heal ourselves. her sign was that she was not getting better doing what she was prescribed to do, and I’m glad the humans saw the sign and figured it out to support her healing. sometimes a sign leads to a positive change.
Thanks for all the positive change you create, beth!
