Today at noon it was dark enough in the house to need the lights on. Thunder rolled outside. Rain is promised all day long. Yesterday was much the same. That is what makes life beautiful to me today. I love thunderstorms. I know they can seriously affect the quality of other people’s lives, and I am sorry for that. But knowing that does not impede my affection for them. They are a part of what made removing from Seattle to the midwest tolerable for me. Seattle may get a lot of rain, but thunderstorms are few and far between. May you all have something that makes life beautiful for you, today.

  4. I appreciate how you make the world beautiful every day, and also Jacques Cousteau who was a childhood hero to me for helping reveal the beauty of the world under water.
Fittingly this quote also came up for me today:
“I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, — light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful.”-John Constable, painter (11 Jun 1776-1837)

  5. You make life beautiful every day by posting to your blog! Thanks Anne!
