Day 4903: Festival of Popular Delusions Day

Happy Festival of Popular Delusions Day, everybody!

.

Actually, I’m not really happy about all the popular delusions held by a large proportion of the population of the United States.

Yesterday, I discussed popular delusions over breakfast at a popular local breakfast place with an esteemed college classmate.

We both hope for these popular delusions to dissipate as soon as possible — before our country is damaged too much for repair during our lifetimes.

Here are my other images for this Festival of Popular Delusions Day.

  1. there are so many popular delusions floating around these days, important to know them when you see them

I celebrate several popular delusions a year. May the Fourth Be With You day is a favorite. Bilbo’s birthday, on September 22nd, and Bloomsday on June 16th.

  3. Gertrude Stein said “Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.” Which sounds like a funny comment on the overwhelming amount of news we get. But she added, “They listen so much that they forget to be natural. This is a nice story.”
I trust that she understood that things aren’t simple and that even losing our common sense can be a good thing sometimes.

Sorry the Fringe isn’t working out for you this summer. It doesn’t seem like “arrange chairs in a circle” is an outrageous ask. But it’s certainly understandable that the number of available venues is finite.

  5. that video is interesting 🙂 🙂 Anne!
