Day 4771: What do you feel like doing?

What do you feel like doing? When the weather is cold, with the threat of a huge storm starting tomorrow, this is what I feel like doing:

Nothing.

However, today is National Just Do It Day.

.

What do you feel like doing now? I feel like sharing my other images for today.

.

What I feel like doing, here and now, is sharing that panicky feeling about having to drive into work on Monday during a potentially dangerous snow storm. What I feel like doing, also, is reminding myself that forecasts aren’t always correct and I will have options on Monday.

What I feel like doing is keeping everybody safe, including myself.

Here’s what I find when I search for “what do you feel like doing?”

.

What do you feel like doing? Leaving a comment?

Thanks to all who are here for this what-do-you-feel-like-doing post, including YOU!

  1. stay safe in that storm Anne! 🙂

  2. It was -18F when I took the dog out this morning. I feel like hanging out under a blanket napping. Maybe reading if I can stay awake. Or might make chocolate chip cookies first so I can snack while I’m under the blanket pretending to read.

Dear dawnkinster. Are we neighbors? It was 18 below here in Madison yesterday morning. Today at the same time only 13 below. A balmy 5 below now. Yesterday I discovered that going to and from the grocery store in freezing weather barely cools me off. Standing still filling the gas tank, however. Popsicle time. And today it’s all jigsaw puzzles and books. Just found another piece that fits. YAY!

  4. I went to an art opening

  5. Everything is under a heavy coat of snow now. Today I’ve taken dogs out, fed dogs three meals, made three meals for my wife, taken dogs out, done a load of laundry, washed dishes, taken dogs out, and read a chapter of a book. And yet with the snow I feel like I haven’t done anything. Maybe I should take the dogs out.

Good Morning Ann, I missed this over the weekend.
What do I do when I know it’s going to snow and blow cold? Why I run right out into it. Some of my best memories are being knee deep in the snow, trudging, trail blazing. I was the kid who came knocking, asking if you wanted me to clear your walk and or driveway. Or if I was at my grandmother’s farm, half of which was Eastern Hardwood forest, I was tracking animals and just letting my mind drift with the snow.

As I grew older, I continued my treks. Then in the Army, during an orienteering exercise in one of Ft Drum’s blizzards, I lead my squad out of the woods to the checkpoint after our platoon leader got us lost.

I never feared the snow and cold. And although I am growing older (late 50s) I still enjoy it. The silence of a snowfall. The crunch as the snow packs under my feet. I cannot be out in it like I was 40 years ago but I still enjoy what I can.
