I hope you know it’s spring, which is my favorite season and which reminds me of today’s title.

Hope springs eternal because this spring (starting this Sunday) I’ll be visiting the Eternal City with three eternal friends.
Does hope spring eternal in my images for today?

Thanks to all who are here for this hope-springs-eternal post, including YOU!

I’ve been heard to denigrate hope in the past – because so often it has pulled a fast one on me. So I’m going to mutter against it once again, in the hopes that this time it manages to surprise me. Oh, damn! Did I just jinx it?
You don’t jinx anything, Barbara.
I am pretty excited about your trip to Italy and look forward to reading your posts from there.
I’m pretty excited too, Maureen!
I’m the eternal optimist so I always have hope. wore my sandals today for the first day of spring as always and even though it snowed in the afternoon, spring still arrived. have a great trip
Thanks for your optimism, beth. People like you give me hope!
The scene in Bedazzled where Dudley Moore asks, “Can we trade places?” and Peter Cook replies “That’s exactly what I said” always makes me laugh.
Also in my writing group this week I said that Herman Melville told Nathaniel Hawthorne, “I keep thinking about a man pursuing a white whale.” Hawthorne replied, “That’s a novel idea.” Not many people laughed so, in my best Rip Taylor voice, I said, “This is it, folks, I don’t dance!” That got more laughs.
Your humor springs eternal, my friend.
