Day 4373: Sharing favorite music

One of my favorite things to do with my son Aaron and my husband Michael is to take turns sharing favorite music.

After we picked Aaron up from the airport last night we spent hours sharing favorite music, including tunes by Neil Young, King Crimson, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Jacob Collier, Blur, The Moody Blues, Joy Division, Weather Report, Frank Black, Joni Mitchell, and this one (which Aaron shared):

.

Sharing favorite music with favorite people inspired me to ask this question on social media last night:

.

After sharing favorite music, I need to be sharing this:

.

Although I’m a lover of silence, I hope to be sharing favorite music again today.

If you were sharing favorite music with loved ones, what might you choose?

Thanks to all who are sharing favorite music with me, here and now, including YOU.

  1. I think it would be cool, Ann, to have a New Orleans-style short line taking a small outdoors stroll with my gathered friends playing a joyful instrumental version of the song that goes “I want to thank you …”

Love the Glen Miller! I would sometimes sneak a little big band or Sinatra into my music rotation at my parties where I hosted my mostly rock’n’roll friends, and once nearly taught one guy to jitterbug. He was a little awkward at it, but then he was a little awkward at rock’n’roll, too, so it kind of all worked out. 🙂

  3. I’m surprised more people haven’t picked “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life”. The movie Waking Ned Divine has a lovely version of “The Parting Glass”. But this would be a great one to go out on too.

  4. I love sharing music with my family and friends

  5. I love seeing Michael and Aaron looking so happy in those photos. And also am loving “In the Mood,” which I used to play on my saxophone
