Day 4370: Books, TV shows, and Movies

Because I’ve been turning my attention away from the news to great books, TV shows, and movies, I asked this question yesterday:

Eeeeek!

I’ve been reading Jane Austen and Anne Tyler books, watching the TV show Scrubs, and looking for movies that will cheer me up and/or make me think.

Do any of these images remind you of books, TV shows, or movies?

Eeeeeek!

I wonder what I’ll find on YouTube when I search for “books, TV shows, and movies.”

.

Thanks to all who are here for this Books, TV Shows, and Movies post, including YOU!

  1. My dear wife Karen and the kids live our own stories, Ann. They entertain me, anyway.

    Ann,
I am to chose a book I have read, I will have to chose Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger. Those days seemed simpler somehow.

I have lots of favorite TV and streaming shows – Slow Horses, The Mandalorian, The Wire – but I am content to watch those universes from afar. Being a librarian in a village in the Yorkshire Dales, however, in the years between the wars – indoor plumbing and all that – feels like something I could handle. 🙂

  4. happy in my story

  5. Scrubs is a great show! I binged watched it lately too!

  6. Parks & Recreation stands out to me as a show where a strong, intelligent woman manages to overcome everything, including, sometimes, her closest friends, to make the world a better place. We’re not there yet but I hold onto hope we’ll get there eventually.

  7. Like Barbara, I would probably enjoy living in All Creatures Great and Small’s Yorkshire world, figuring out what was upsetting the digestion of the local dairy cows and helping to deliver foals. But I would love to be in The West Wing if I could be CJ Cregg. Or in House of I could be Wilson.
