In Vancouver last month, I walked by a volunteer who was there for something I can’t remember and who was wearing a button that said “Ask Me Anything.” When I asked, “What are we here for?” she was there for that and answered, “To have fun.”
I agreed with her and I’m here for that now.

The Daily Bitch is here for the tacos and here is what I find when I search for “what are we here for?”

I’m so grateful we are here for each other.

This was one quick summer, Ann. Thank you for sharing yours with us.
I love sharing things with friends like you, Mark.
we are here for each other
We are, beth, and I am so grateful.
Yes! Me too, Anne! Feels good to be here for each other!
It does, Carol Anne. Thank you!
I like the answer “have fun.” Thinking about it – and I actually did just that, years ago – I decided that having fun is the best thing we can do as human beings. I thought about it this way: the only way to have fun is to have enough to eat, a place to sleep, and clothing to wear when you need to. So having fun entails providing all these things for ourselves and each other. Only when we have the security these things provide, can we truly let loose and have fun – playing, creating, competing, cooperating. Having fun is the whole point of it all. 🙂
I’m having fun reading your comment, Barbara.
We’re here to find our way home.

Nice, Alan.
I am glad to hear that we are here to have fun because I often have fun reading your blog. So I feel very successful! And in 5 minutes I am heading off to meet my brother’s husband at Van Dusen Gardens, which will also be fun. 🙂
This is bringing back so many fun memories, Maureen. Thank you!
In the music video for the Pet Shop Boys’ cover of “Always On My Mind” the actor Joss Ackland gets in the back of a taxi and tells a few Steven Wright jokes before he says “I’m going there but I like it here, wherever it is.”
That became a line my friends and I often repeated. I do like it here. I hope there will be nice too.
It’s nice to see you wherever we are, Chris.
Fun is good, Ann.
So true, my good friend.
