During the debate last night — which I was afraid of watching — I asked this question: “What are you afraid of?”

.
At this point, I’m afraid of losing my sense of hope and my sense of humor.

Well, maybe not. I still think that’s funny and I still have hope for humankind. But I’m afraid how people vote in important elections and how that affects us all.
Today, when I talk to people in group and individual therapy, I’m sure we’ll be discussing what they are afraid of.

On CAPS LOCK Day, I am VERY AFRAID of a former U.S. President who rants on social media with caps lock on.
Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “What are you afraid of?”
.
What are you afraid of?
Thanks to all those I am NOT afraid of, including YOU.

that people vote for personality cults , not party and platforms. That people won’t vote who we need to have vote, that they will vote 3rd party – i guess that we will lose our very flawed and rickety democracy with a republican trump presidency.
I’m afraid of all that too, Carol.
I’m afraid too many people don’t care if we go off the rails, Ann.
I share your fear, Mark.
Some things that I am afraid of are not within my control, but your “how should a cat wear pants” cartoon was a delightful antidote to worry this morning. Thank you
You are most welcome, Maureen.
I’m afraid we’re doomed.
I hope not, Dawn!
I’m afraid that people will give up on Joe, because of his poor performance, but he is so much more than this
A lot of people are afraid of that, beth.
Amy G Dala, MD has it exactly right. I was much more wordy when I wrote “Of the two men, TFG looked and sounded strong, confident, and chock full of leadership quality. Joe, I think, had a cold. You will hear pundits talk about his weak performance. But keep this fact in mind. EVERY WORD OUT OF TFG’S MOUTH THE ENTIRE TIME WAS A BALD FACED LIE! Every word out of Joe’s, stuttered, firm, or anything in between, was the honest truth.” I’m afraid too many people will choose lively lies over quiet truth.
I share your fears, Barbara.
I am very afraid of what will happen in this upcoming election.
I share your fears, Debbie.
In 1982 when the film Poltergeist came out the commercials said, “It knows what scares you.” And that frightened me because there was so much that scared me. There’s a lot that scares me now even though my fears have changed.
It can be scary out there, Chris.
