What’s in a name? I’m going to name this: in my therapy groups people sometimes name how their names have affected them.
Can you see what’s in a name in my images for today?

I’m thinking “what’s in a name?” as I ponder the possible differences between International Safety Pin Day and Safety Pin Day. And in case you’re wondering what’s in a name for Salvation Army Founder’s Day, here’s the name:

“What’s in a Name?” might be a name for a great song, but if I’m going to put on a good show of my original songs this spring (or is it Spring?), I need to focus on the songs I’ve already written.
Here’s what I find when I search for “what’s in a name?” on YouTube:

What’s in a name for you?
Thanks to Isha Mathur (yes, the TED talk people misspelled her last name as “Marthur”) and everyone else who helped me create this “what’s in a name?” post, including YOU.

I’m fairly certain that if my dear parents had looked up the meaning of Barbara and found that it came from the Latin for barbarian, foreign, strange, they would have named me Leslie (as my dad said they were thinking). Thank the gods they didn’t! Nothing’s wrong with Leslie, but I’m so not one. 🙂
You are a wonderful Barbara, Barbara!
my name was reversed when I was two because my parents couldn’t agree on it when I was born. one called me beth Susan and the other Susan beth. they officially changed it from susan to beth and talk about an identity crisis! if I could choose my name I would like to be a happy flower, like daisy or poppy, or a season, autumn.
You are a happy flower to so many, beth.
My mother chose “Christopher” because she liked the Winnie The Pooh stories and also didn’t know anyone with that name or anyone who named their children “Christopher”. She thought it would be an unusual, even distinctive, name. Fast forward to high school and a friend of mine also named Chris said “Going down the halls of this school and yelling ‘Hey Chris’ is like going to a Cure concert and yelling ‘Hey, you in the black!’”
It’s never what you expect, Chris. I will say that you are my favorite Chris.
