Day 4078: I can’t do it on my own

When I want to stand up to the forces of injustice, I think, “I can’t do it on my own.”

When I spend a week with other group therapists and explore the ways that groups can heal in a world where groups sometimes destroy, I know that I can’t do it on my own.

While I may value my independent and solitary ways of thinking and acting, I ultimately realize that I can’t do it on my own, no matter what it is.

I want to connect with others and I can’t do it on my own. Are you with me?

I can’t do it on my own without the Daily Bitch.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “I can’t do it on my own.”

.

I can’t do it on my own, so thanks to all who connect with me here, including YOU!

  1. Well your never on your own on here Anne! <3

  2. It’s still hard for me to ask for help – and the older I get the harder it is – but I did learn long ago that asking for help is an act of friendship. I learned this when people I hoped to consider friends asked me for help, and the sense of inclusion I felt when helping them.

  3. When I was in Paris I spent most of my time on my own and had a wonderful time. Among other things I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night and during the day. But I couldn’t find everything on my own and sometimes had to ask strangers for help. I’d heard so much about Parisians being rude but I approached everyone with courtesy and they responded in kind—some were even exceptionally friendly, which I think says something about most people.

Thanks for taking us along on the Capital Wheel ride! I haven’t been in that city since the wheel opened and it looks like fun.

  5. Your visit with your friend looks so wonderful and all the food delicious. Somehow in a world that is riven, the two of you made a beautiful day.

There are many things we can’t do on our own and still be independent. We all need people in our lives. Glad you’re having a nice time with your company, Ann

  7. I went to Costa Rica last summer, booked it as a solo trip and met up with 7 other people, new to me, and to each other, when I got there and we had a wonderful time, some things together, some on our own
