An hour or two (but who’s counting?) before we on the east coast of the USA connected to Thanksgiving 2014, I connected to Mark Bialczak‘s comment on my post yesterday:
Ann, you’re on a two-year run of blog superiority, going strong, going proud, going to all measures to stay in tune with life. And we run to it every day to read your wisdom, see your pictures, listen to your songs. What a connection. Thank you, and bless you and your special heart. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Aaron and Michael. 🙂
Yes, Mark. What a connection! I give thanks for that, for you, and for all others who read this blog.
Yesterday, after I wrote my post and before I read any comments (including Mark’s) about it, I heard this song on my walk to work:
(I give thanks for this live version of Sting’s “The Soul Cages,” found here on YouTube.)
Throughout the day, I connected “The Soul Cages” to almost everything I saw, and I was thankful.
Before I connect you to the photos I took, I had hoped to connect you to a definition of “The Soul Cages.” The only definitions I can find, however, through my internet connections, relate to Sting’s album and song.
So I guess I’ll connect you to my own personal definition (for which I thank all my neurons, synapses and other mind and body connections):
The Soul Cages: Bodies and other things that hold souls, during life on earth.
Here are the images I connected to and captured with connections to “The Soul Cages” (for which I am thankful):

What connections are you making, right now?
Many thanks, on this 2014 Thanksgiving, to all the connections I’ve ever made in any way (which would include you, if you get the connection).

Love the photos Ann. And really nice comment from Mark. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, also. And I give thanks for the connection with you.
I want to wish you and your family a great big happy, happy Thanksgiving! I adore reading your blog, and I am very thankful for its writer. 🙂 Also, I love the picture of the brain with the heart…and those precious lizards! 😀
Thanksgiving wishes back at ya, Nerd In the Brain (and Wise in the Heart) — to you and to those you love. I adore reading your blog (and I’m thankful for that).
Thank you, Ann, for my banner appearance on Thanksgiving. My soul in your cage. How appropriate, yet again. And right his second, Sting just appeared on my flat screen singing his song from Broadway during the Macy’s parade. Scary parallels stacking up further on the thinking person’s blog. No time off on holiday. Your heart and mind image via Jenn and Maureen is pricelessly perfect, too!
Love the syncs and parallels, Mark. And while I could be scared that I missed Sting’s appearance in NYC this morning, I’ll be seeing his play next weekend (and I’ll be closer, geographically, to you!). For all those things, I am grateful.
You will be closer while you on your way to that play (!) as you head westward but before you take the southerly turn. I think Boston may be equidistant from Syracuse and New York City. In the old days I’d ask Rand McNally. Now I may have to Google. 🙂
Here’s another way we are in sync on this Thanksgiving Day, Mark: After I posted that reply, I thought, “Hmmm. My geographical sense is suspect. I wonder if I will NOT be closer to Mark when in NYC? If I was wrong, I will hear back from him, I’m sure.” Ta da!
Google tells me that today you are 310 miles from Syracuse, and in New York City, you will be 245 miles from Syracuse. You are good, Ann. Very, very good!
I’m better than I knew, Mark, thanks — again! — to you.
Happy Thanksgiving Ann, to you and your loved ones.

Back at you, Alan. I am giving many thanks for you.
So grateful we connected Ann!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I love holidays that remind us of what is really important in life.

I am very very very very very grateful we’ve connected, Val. And your beautiful comment is the most recent reason why. xxxxx
Happy Thanksgiving, Ann, to you and your family!
Same to you, wonderful Kim!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Ann!
Back at you, Kate! I am verrrrrrrrrrry grateful to be connected to you.
Awe! Music to calm the savage spirit. The man’s a musical wizard… One line The Police haunt me with over this Ferguson thing: ‘They will kill you for a cigarette!’ Seems he hit that nail on the head!
I heard some Ferguson echoes today, too. I give many thanks for you and your visit.
The brain talking to the heart is really great. You feel your own body should be able to respond to your own thinking organ, but the other organs just get on with their own functions. They are all deeply affected by the activities of the brain, but don’t actually communicate with it except physically (pain etc). Sorry, I started a thread of thought that is going on a long journey here. I am charmed by the newts/salamanders discussing their next move.
I am, as always, charmed by your comment.
Thanksgiving in Mexico, making soul connection with the sea. Perfectcion!
Yay!
if only i could spell perfection perfectly the first time . . .
Perfection is overrated, Emilie.
Happy Thanksgiving Ann – I am so grateful for my connection with you!
Diana xo
The feeling and the connection are mutual, Diana!
