Always surprising to see how pop singers step up, when given the chance to reboot a classic !
It was surprising to see Constantine from American Idol stepping up to play that role of Che last night!
I remember him…makes sense. He was very theatrical.
While applauding your positivity, I’m afraid you are confusing rights with opportunities. In reality, even consensual reality, the ONLY right we have, as living creatures, is the right to die. Any other ‘right’ is actually merely an opportunity to make a choice, about how to respond to the current moment’s experience. In the real world, you only have those rights you can defend; if it can be taken from you, it is not a right.
This single right we possess as living beings, the right to die when the time comes, comes with one opportunity, also a privilege, & that is, we have the opportunity to choose how we live…. Every ‘right’ you list above is simply what we would LIKE to have as our opportunity to choose; even then, we make a choice, even if we choose to do nothing…
Men are NOT created equal, other than as an equal part of the natural order; our capabilities & ability to deal with life are never the same from one person to the next. Nature has no hierarchies; nothing is more, or less, important than any other. All those hierarchal lists we often choose to believe come only from our imagination, which is both our advantage, and our most compelling flaw, for all too many people believe their imagination can make changes in reality; we think we can impose our hierarchy on the real world, which laughs at such silliness….
I don’t mean to rain on this parade, but, such thinking can lead to false beliefs; people are better off, in the long run, to face life the way it is, & not make silly assumptions about what the universe, and reality, will allow us to do. This sort of belief, in our imaginary powers to change reality, is, in many ways, the most critical flaw in human society, for these hierarchies, which make one thing, or person, or idea, more important than another, opens the way to conflict, for no two people will ever agree as to what is, or is not, important….
But, it’s all okay, because, that’s how the universe works, and life is beautiful once we can accept it the way it is….

gigoid, the dubilous
I’m afraid sometimes, too. I’m glad you had the opportunity to make this comment.
I just wanna go to ground – and hide there…
I understand the feeling!
I’d like to think I have the right to be me ….. as long as I am in my own right mind, and my actions don’t impede on the rights of others…. and can visit your blog whenever I like. Thank you Ann for sharing Evita over the years❣️
We have the right to be us, Val! Thank goodness. <3
My rights end where other peoples’ begin. I always keep in mind that exercising my rights shouldn’t infringe on someone else’s rights. And when others aren’t as considerate of me I have a right to be disappointed, right?
I can’t imagine anybody being as considerate as you, Chris, and you have the right to have all your feelings.
Hi Ann, I have a right to remain silent, and rest today !!
Silence is golden and so is rest!
I have the right to tell you that you have the right to remain awesome. (♡ ὅ ◡ ὅ )ʃ♡
We both have the right to remain awesome! <3
