It’s the middle of March, so — here in the Year(s) of Living Non-Judgmentally — it’s time to decide how it comes in and how it goes out!
According to the old saying, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.
Here are The Tokens coming in, like lions:
I’m coming in now — like an Ann Koplow — to tell you that “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is the song I’m planning on singing at a party this Friday. I’ll be singing that unless somebody or something comes in to interfere (like the Steven Wright comedy show I’ll be attending with my son that same night).
Where you live, what does March come in like?
Now, like a lion or a lamb, I’d like to post a photo.
Ooops! I thought I took a photo of my purple pen posing with lambs on Saturday, but I didn’t. Here’s another photo, instead:
Maybe, around here, March goes out like
- chocolate matzo covered with sprinkles or
- a bunny.
Where you live, what does March go out like?
Now, I’ve got to go out like an Ann Koplow and get ready for work.
Many thanks to The Tokens, the lions, the lambs, the bunnies, the chocolate, the matzos, the sprinkles, and — of course! — to you, for marching by here today.

Bunnies make my day, as well as lambs and lions! Thank you Ann 🙂
You make my day, Val!
March used to pretty much be a lamb out here. Then the winds of April came and we all thought we were going to blow away! With climate change, we now have more of a lion of a March with April’s winds arriving two to four weeks early but forgetting to leave early!
Today is supposed to be a lamb, and I look forward to it very much.
I hope you had a lamb of a day, Emilie. I’m always grateful when the wind brings you here.
The Lion Sleeps Tonight is a wonderful choice! I wonder if people will sing along at the chorus? Hoping this makes it to Youtube.
I am hoping people sing along. We shall see about YouTube. Thanks for coming and going here today.
how sweet!
& something lively
to sing with my meditation group.
all this, especially
the chocolate matzos
is kosher 🙂
sweet, lively, song,
and chocolate are
all kosher to me
Plenty of bunnies in the fields around here, Ann. We also have a few mad March hares leaping and kicking in the air. I’m hoping March will go out like a lamb, although it didn’t come in particularly lion-like.
Hope you’re rehearsing that great song ready for Friday. 🙂
I’d like to be a March hare, Millie, leaping and kicking in the air. Thanks for all you brought here with this comment.
Ann,
I live in Ct. It always goes out with a question mark (?)
-Alan
I usually have a question mark (?) when I try to spell Connecticut. Thanks for this visit to MA, Alan.
I don’t know what Matzos are, but I think the new rule should be that March arrives bringing chocolate with sprinkles!
How can we make that new rule of yours a law, Kate?
Like a lion here! 😱
Thanks for reporting in and stay warm, Kate!
Trying! 😀
I live in Texas, the weather is very schizophrenic. This year (DFW area) we sprinkled snow and ice on it. Hopefully we will end the month muddy and very wet. An odd thing to say, but we are suffering an extreme drought. Some towns and communities have no water, and haven’t in months.
My thoughts to all that are overwhelmed by too much ice melt and rainfall. I hope your March leaves on a dry note.
Thank you for your lion-heart and lamb-kindness.
Our weather has been so nuts I don’t know how to answer about March. Topsy turvy? How awful so much of the states is in a drought while others are experiencing flooding and we here snow snow and more snow. Hoping the drought areas see rain, the flood areas see sunshine and warmth, and the snow areas sun and green. Hoping your health has been good, Ann, and your world has been kind to you. (((HUGS))) Amy
Thank you, Amy, for being so kind, always.
Even lions sing, to welcome the spring:

You come in like a champion, Maria.
March goes out like a Mets fan. Hope springs eternal, Ann.
Well met, Mark. Thanks for coming in and going out, so classily.
Sprinkles represent manna, right?
They do now. Thanks for coming back!
Are you brave or what! I love this song, which belongs to my teens.
I’m probably what (and maybe a little brave, too)! I love this song, too, Hilary, and hope I get to sing it on Friday.
